ROBY is committed to collecting and processing your data, from the www.roby.taxi website or the apps, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act.

Personal data collected

ROBY, as data controller, limits the collection of personal data to what is adequate, relevant and strictly necessary for providing its services and managing the commercial relationship. Two types of data are collected:

• The data you provide when signing up on the website or mobile apps. It is required for booking and managing your rides.
• The data linked to requested or completed rides (date, pick-up address, arrival area, rating given) and to their invoicing.

Background location data

Customers

The app requires your background location data so you can see the taxi approaching, and so the driver can reach your position as quickly as possible during the ride. Outside a ride, your position is not shared. Sharing stops when the ride ends. Fine location is used to calculate the most accurate fare, in compliance with Moroccan regulations.

Drivers

The app requires your background location data so customers can see the taxis actually active around them, and follow your approach. Your position is not shared when you leave the app.

Processing and purposes

The data collected is hosted and processed in France under secure protocols, for the following purposes:

• performing the booking service and managing your ride requests;
• improving service quality (offer personalization, fraud prevention, statistical analyses, possibly anonymized);
• communication via SMS or email campaigns to keep you informed about the services.

The legal basis for this processing is your contractual relationship with ROBY, its legal obligations, or your consent for commercial prospecting, which you can withdraw at any time.

Data sharing

Your data is only shared with the partners needed to deliver the service:

• ROBY affiliated drivers, to access pick-up information (name, address);
• the payment service provider (Stripe), for remote card payment;
• subject to your consent, providers involved in marketing communication.

Retention

Your data is kept for a period suited to the purpose of each processing operation. Exceptionally, it may be kept longer to handle claims and disputes, or to meet legal obligations.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to your data, rectification of inaccurate data, erasure and restriction of processing, within the limits of applicable law. You also have the right to portability of the data you have provided.
